Häromdagen skrev jag och bad om råd hur jag skulle göra med detta problem. Jag fick inga goda tips och försöker därför igen. Så här skrev jag:

Jag har nu haft min Pentax Optio 430 i drygt ett år. Varje gång jag går ut på stan så ligger kameran i vänstra fickan på jeansen - alltid redo.

Kamerans frontskydd är inte helt tätt mot linsen och jag brukar regelbundet blåsa rent linsen och samtidigt putsa sökarfönster att skärm.

Men nu har jag upptäckt att det ligger fint fnyk (damm och fibrer) över hela bildskärmens insida. Och dessutom: när man tittar i sökaren ligger det ett halvdussin små svarta prickar ojämnt fördelade över synfältet.

- Det kan jag kanske leva med - förutsatt att bildkvaliten inte påverkas. (Det kostar sannolikt skjortan att få den rengjord - varje år!)

- Men däremot är jag orolig för att det också finns fnyk innanför linsen! Det kan jag ju inte kontrollera.

I would really try to dismantle the camera in any way yourself, which means if you think there's dust inside, best is to ask your local repair shop what they would charge to clean it for you. It might not be as expensive as you think.
When I had an Ixus V2, I bought a little belt case for it so that I could wear horizontally on my belt. Your pocket will always be full of dust, so it's really not the best place to carry your camera, even if it's convenient.

Yes I have been thinking of that all the time but the whole point for me in owning a small camera like this one is to carry it around unobtrusively in the jeans.

This camera obviously was not manufactured to stand for that kind of treatment.

I don't think so. Dust just always seems to find it's way in there somehow. You could try keeping it in an appropriately sized zip-lock plastic bag when it's in your pocket, but otherwise...
