Yohanna Adolfsson

I am Yohanna, a Swedish photographer with a particular love and curiosity for natural light, having spent the last 8 years living in England and Scotland.

The main thing which drives my ambition has always been emotion. My passion is to create beautiful images that translate into invaluable and timeless memories, to bring out the captured emotion for years to come.

As a young girl, I was often found playing around with analogue cameras and stored the (somewhat arbitrary) results in my many albums. I started developing a more serious interest at school, whilst studying photography and darkroom processing. Up until then, I had imagined myself growing up to become an author or journalist, but the art of photography opened my eyes to a way of expressing myself through something other than words.

I started working with my first DSLR (a Nikon D80) in early 2007, and today I mainly use a Nikon D800. Shooting portraiture, weddings, and interiors is what I enjoy the most, generally with a documentary feel along with a touch of Scandinavian minimalism. When photographing living things, capturing the perfect candid moment is something I always strive for. I also truly believe that post-processing is an artform in itself and love spending hours on end making my photographs come alive on-screen.
