When you close your LR application you need to give it time to shut down properly. The last time you stopped LR you stopped it abruptly. When LR is open LR creates two temporary files in the folder that contains your catalog.
Find the folder containing your catalog. In it you have a catalog file named "{your catalog name}.lrcat". There are possibly two others files "your catalog name}.lrcat.lock" and "{your catalog name}.lrcat-journal"
"{your catalog name}.lrcat-journal" contains unsaved changes to your catalog. "your catalog name}.lrcat.lock" is the placeholder file that tells LR that there is/was another instance running. If LR closes properly, this file is deleted automatically. Since it did not close normally, you need to delete this file manuall. If you do this, you will be able to reopen your LR catalog
