En snabb googling på filnamnet gav svaret:
"-Very often when I open PS7 a dialog box comes up and says it' updating and lists something like awf or aw something.How do I know what these updates or files are?Anyone know where to locate them on my computer?"
"-They're mostly useless, and you can turn the update off in your preferences. They're viewed via the same window. Usually they're just the same text files that I get emailed to me."

För att slippa detta så skall man alltså ställa in update=never i preferenserna i PS.
Filändelsen skvallrar om att det är en Adobe Acrobat Bookmark XML file.Alltså en typ av hjälpfil.
